Sunset Rock Lookout
Beaufort Ave, Mount Victoria
Sunset Rock Lookout offers one of the most breathtaking sunset views in the upper Blue Mountains from an unfenced rock outcrop on the edge of the escarpment at Mount Victoria.
At one of the highest points of the Mountains at 1010m, this peaceful lookout gazes across the vast expanse of the Kanimbla Valley and Mount Blackheath, where rolling ridgelines glow gold and crimson as the sun sinks behind the horizon.
The lookout is reached from the end of Beaufort Avenue, where there is an obvious short walking track that descends to the end of the cliff-line. As evening falls, the changing colours of the sky and the quiet of the surrounding bushland create a magical atmosphere. It’s a favourite local spot for photographers, picnics and travellers seeking a classic Blue Mountains sunset.
