Kyah

13-17 Brightlands Avenue, Blackheath

Once a 1970s motor inn, Blackheath’s Kyah Hotel was transformed in 2021 into a chic, Palm Springs-inspired boutique retreat that trades ‘death by doily’ for pastel hues, on-trend archways, and a touch of Hollywood glamour.

The property is split into three wings named after the Three Sisters - Meehni, Wimlah, and Gunnedoo. While it retains its nostalgic motel bones (like external room entries and ample parking), the interiors are entirely modern. Guests can choose from 46 rooms ranging from king suites for couples to two-bedroom suites designed for families.

At the centre of the hotel is Blaq Restaurant, focusing on a garden-to-plate philosophy, and its stunning cocktail bar.

After a day of hiking, guests can soak in the outdoor hot tub, hit the sauna, or borrow the hotel’s e-bikes to explore Blackheath. There’s also a tennis/basketball court and a cozy fireplace for cooler mountain nights.

Located just minutes from Govetts Leap, Kyah offers a youthful, sophisticated alternative to the more traditional heritage hotels typically found in the Blue Mountains.
