Wentworth Falls Track
Sir Henry Burrell Drive, Wentworth Falls
The Wentworth Falls Track is a popular walk featuring cliff-edge paths and grand valley views. Follow the path from Jamison and Wentworth Lookouts for staggering view of the Jamison Valley before descending around 200 steps to the cliff edge at Fletchers Lookout, where you can see the upper tier of the waterfall plummeting to the valley floor.
For those with a steady pulse, the track continues down the Grand Stairway - a series of narrow, steep steps hand-carved directly into the sandstone cliff face. As you descend, the roar of the water grows louder until you reach the middle level, where you can stand at the very lip of the 187-meter drop. The spray from the falls provides a cooling mist, sustaining a micro-climate of ancient mosses and ferns. It is a challenging, heart-pumping journey that perfectly captures why this UNESCO World Heritage site is so revered.
Make your way back via the same route, or if you're feeling energetic, combine Wentworth Falls track with the short Weeping Rock circuit, the varied Undercliff track or historic Princes Rock lookout track.
