Overcliff-Undercliff Track
Falls Road, Wentworth Falls
For those seeking a ‘edge of the world’ experience without the gruelling vertical climb, the Overcliff-Undercliff Track at Wentworth Falls is a favourite. This 3.5km loop features dramatic cliff edge, lush rainforest, and large rock overhangs, with a track that hugs the sheer sandstone escarpment of the Jamison Valley.
The ’Overcliff’ section offers panoramic views across to Mount Solitary and the Kings Tableland, with several unfenced rocky outcrops that are perfect for a quiet (if slightly dizzying) photo op.
As the track transitions into the ‘Undercliff’ portion, the vibe shifts instantly. You’ll find yourself walking beneath massive, water-carved rock overhangs and through dripping "micro-climates" of hanging swamps and prehistoric ferns. The path literally tunnels under the cliff line, with the rock face curving over your head like a giant stone wave.
